Outdoor Outreach & Environmental Education
The Environmental Outreach Program within Glade Run Lutheran Services utilizes the agency’s 325 acres of wooded land to provide programs to all age groups. With their experience in environmental education and outdoor recreation, our staff can design a fun filled, hands on, learning experience to meet the specific needs of your group. Programs are designed to teach about and develop an appreciation for the environment. These programs are offered in a variety of forms including fieldtrip opportunities, site specific assemblies, community workshops, and outdoor recreational activities. Program topics may include watershed education, songbirds, birds of prey, reptiles and amphibians, insects and aquatic insects, trees, winter ecology, and teambuilding. The outdoor recreational opportunities include hiking, mountain biking and maintenance, orienteering and camping. The outreach program also uses the surrounding resources to enhance the programs, providing canoeing, fishing, and snorkeling programs. Programs may also be developed to meet the specific needs of your group.
