Events

Periodically throughout the year, Glade Run Foundation Office hosts special events on and off campus where we have a need for volunteers.  Depending on the event, the job duties of the volunteers will vary.  Events may be an outdoor carnival for our clients, an event on campus to entertain interested prospects or our annual fundraising dinner at an exclusive location in Pittsburgh.  Volunteers for special events may be requested to spend the majority of a day and/or evening involved in the set-up, hosting and clean-up of an event.  Volunteer responsibilities will be assigned at the discretion of the Special Events Planner and according to the volunteer’s specific area of interest.

Another special event during which the Foundation Office would appreciate the help of volunteers is our Christmas Program.  Spanning the many programs in Glade Run’s residential and community programs, the Foundation Office provides Christmas gifts for over 700 children and families.  The gifts are all donations from businesses, congregations and individual donors.  The planning and distributing of wish lists begins in August.  A few of the areas that require assistance are, but are not limited to:   processing of wish lists; making gift tags; mailings to inquire about business, congregational and individual interest; mailing of gift tags to interested parties; accepting gift donations; sorting and distributing gifts; ensuring that gifts are delivered and picked up by appropriate staff.

Event volunteering opportunities do not involve interaction with children receiving services from Glade Run Lutheran Services.
