Empowering People Through Individual and Community Supports (EPICS)

These services focus on two of the most under-served populations in our communities: the elderly and mentally retarded individuals.  Services are provided in the client's home, whether it be a nursing home setting, a community residence, or residence with a family member or caregiver.  Depending upon the residence of the client, skill development may include: independent living skills, personal hygiene, relationship-building and personal growth activities.

Specific service components for which a client may be referred include:

• Behavior Assessment;
• Psychosocial Behavior Assessment;
• Behavior Specialist;
• Habilitation/Companion.

Available in Allegheny County.
