Supervised Apartment Independent Living (SAIL)

The goal of the SAIL program is to prepare adolescents, aged 16 to 21, to be self-sufficient and responsible young adults.  Initially, all financial responsibility for the apartment and associated costs of living are assumed by Glade Run Lutheran Services.  As the residents progress through the independent living steps, they assume greater financial responsibility for their own lives.

Participants in the SAIL program are required to continue their education, either at public school, vocational or trade school, college or other approved institution.  Each resident must also secure and maintain employment.  Specialized therapy, such as group therapy or individual outpatient counseling, is secured through mental health facilities or other community resources.
