Alternative Regular Education Program

The Alternative Regular Education program is for regular education students requiring behavioral support in a more structured environment.  Although these students have not been identified as needing special education, these students typically have both emotional and behavior issues that are exhibited in the academic setting.  Each classroom has a teacher and behavior support staff.  These classrooms are small with a maximum of twelve students.  In addition to their academic studies, these students are taught the skills that are necessary to  be successful in school with an emphasis on appropriate peer interaction.

Support teachers are also involved in the students' education by providing the following courses of instruction to include Physical Education, Health, Art, Computers, Applied Science, and Federal Title 1 Services for Reading and Math.  In addition to the support teachers, these students are also given  the opportunity to participate in educational activities offered on the campus at the greenhouse, horse stables, five miles of nature trails and the small animal program.
